In 2005 Lagniappe was ranked amongst the top 30 restaurants by Time Out Chicago’s "100 Best Things Eaten", for its Louisiana Style Gumbo, stating that " it’s enough to get Paul Prudhomme up out of that Rascal Scooter". Paul Prudhomme is famous for his Cajun cuisine. In 2006 Lagniappe was the recipient of the Chicago Tribune's, Good Eats Award. For many years the restaurant has been featured in various print articles and television series such as ABC Channel 7 "Hungry Hound, with Steve Dolinsky", CLTV’S "Metro Mix", LTH Forum, Chicago Tribune’s "On-line and Published", Metro-Mix, InChiCity, The Street Wise Newspaper, The Reader Newspaper, Center-Stage Chicago, just to name a few. Lagniappe has participated in The Auburn Gresham and Taste of Chicago Fest since 2006 and continues to be voted amongst the top 10 restaurants respectively in The Rib Fest since 2007. In both 2008 and 2009, Lagniappe was featured on the prestigious Check Please. Also in 2009, Lagniappe was featured as one of the top 100 restaurants in New City Magazine. In 2010, Time Out Chicago Magazine listed us under Places To Go In Chicago. Also in 2010, Lagniappe was featured on 190 North and at The Churchill Downs Entertainment, a subsidiary of the infamous Kentucky Derby-Fork, Cork & Style Chicago. Most recently in 2011, Lagniappe was featured on Channel 7’s Morning Show hosted by Hosea Sanders.
